In a nutshell
We’re Adam and Jwaan, co-founders of Shimi.
Together, we’re a bit of a cocktail. Adam’s half Egyptian and English, and Jwaan’s roots lie across Iraq, the UAE, Germany and the UK. We’re both Londoners - but like our drinks, we’re a mix of different ingredients.
Who we are
Back in February 2025, we went out for cocktails and had a curry leaf infused G&T. It sounded unusual and tasted incredible.
Somewhere between sips, we started talking about how underused Middle Eastern flavours are in drinks, and how they deserve their moment. So we made a list of our favourite ingredients we grew up with - everything from pomegranate, to cardamom, to sumac.
We spent countless date nights testing Arabic-inspired drinks until we found the ones we loved the most.
And that’s how Shimi was born. From our home, to your glass.
